Hair Dye Answers

My mother, who is naturally a medium brunette, decided it would be fun to dye her hair a color called Black Cherry. Let’s just say the results are pretty bad, it’s jet black with random red tints in it. Yes it was a dumb choice but that’s beside the point, too late for that. We tried dying it, using a light ash blonde color, but yet it still remains the same. What can she do to reverse the horrid mess she’s mad of her hair, short of shaving it off a la Britney Spears?

I had black hair,and it had to be bleached to be reversed. Because I was bleaching over black hair dye,my hair turned orange. To get rid of the orange, my hairdresser bleached it again. Although it’s almost a normal blonde colour, it still has a yellow-ish hue. My hairdresser suggested one more bleaching,to get rid of the brassy tones & make it pure blonde,but ( I know this might sound stupid) I’m afraid my hair will fall out. Although there’s no indication of hairloss now (other than my split end breaking but thats due to the fact that i havent cut my hair in nearly a year),but I just fear the 3rd bleaching will make my hair fall out/ go bald.Please let me know

I’m not sure if it’s ok to use a blonde “dye”. . .I was told you cant put color on color. I’m currently using a protein treatment from Cat to reverse some of the damaging effects of the bleach.I’m looking for a platinum blonde. (and the last time I used an ash blond on light blonde hair my hair went gray) HELP!

I recently dyed my dark blonde hair a very dark brown & I was wondering, besides growing it out, if there are any ways of reversing the colouring process. And will it affect the condition of my hair?

Right now my hair is kinda uneven…up towards my roots is my natural color mixed with a faded light red & the back of my hair is a dark red/burgundy color( was purple black & faded that way). I want to get my hair to a rich auburn. Is there anyway I can lighten the dark red hair in back so I can dye all of it a rich auburn color?
Which product is the best. I heard about Satin Color Reverse Hair Color Remover Kit & L’oreal Colorzap Color Remover Kit but I never used themor have any experience with them.Does anyone know what product would be the best?

Let’s say you dye it, & a few weeks later, you don’t like it any more. Is there a way to reverse it? I have no idea how the dyeing process works, so no smart comments please.

I dyed my hair back in september, I my natural hair color is platinum blonde, & I dyed it dark red. its faded now to a dirty blonde, but my hair isn’t nearly as soft as it used to be.
my hair used to be shiny & pin straight & soft as baby hair.
now its damaged & not as soft.
How do I get it to be perfectly straight & soft again?!?! PLEASE help

so right now i’ve got a so-called “scene” reverse bob haircut. lots of layers, & its brown with blond underneath (only in the front). i want to dye my hair in a crazy pattern or something.
i’ve already had coontails, & cant get them back because every single freaking person at my school now has them [bah, i'm such a trendsetter!] so i was going to dye it like some other pattern. tiger stripes, leopard spots… something i can do on the blond thats underneath my natural hair color (brown). please send pics & ideas!

My hair is brown with all over blonde highlights & I always dye my own hair. I can’t afford a salon dye job & I need to dye my hair to be black with maybe 8 blonde foils. Kind of like Kat Von D’s or that style. I have long layers so I want the blonde pieces to be randomly showing through the black in spontaneous spots. Since I’m doing it myself, I need to know what is going to be the most efficient way to do this. It would be much easier to bleach the foiled parts if they weren’t just dyed black, so I’m wondering if there’s any way to keep sections of my hair out of the black dye so they’ll lighten much more easily. This seems like it would be really tricky, though. And if there is no way to do that without extreme difficulty, is the next most efficient way to dye everything black & then bleach the foils? I just don’t want them to turn orange & it’s very hard to dye freshly dyed black hair blonde. And I need them to be like, BLONDE. Maybe a dye-stripping product but that would be difficult to not get on the black. I either want to dye my hair black or get another ear piercing. I want either another cartiledge or a reverse industrial thingy….but my mom won’t let me dye my hair black but I want to…what should I do.

I’ve had the wordt kind of bleaching accident, & I know it happens very often i’d just like a reliable answer. I bleache it today & the outcome is disatorous, I have no money to visit a salon an do it right + making the matter worse i’m starting my new job on monday

my hair is naturally dark brown. this summer i decided to use sun-in to get a lighter color for the beaches. however, i have very dark eyes & my hair looks terrible. my mother says that there’s dying & bleaching, & sun-in is bleaching. so i can’t reverse bleaching. but i’d really like to get my hair back to normal. is there any way to dye my hair back? or could i dye it REALLY dark & just progressively wash it out?

I have very frizzy, coarse, brillo pad hair (I am white). I am 51 years old. For years my beautician has straightened it with perm solution (just reversing it), & it works well, but it always burns off my hair. Then it takes two to three years for top & sides to grow back (not to mention I look funny!!!). I have a straightening iron (the newer ones), but that’s not the answer. It doesn’t help my hair (my hair is dyed, not bleached blonde). Anybody know of a solution that I can use that will work (or that my beautician friend can use) that will straighten effectively. I have the most stubborn, frizzy, coarse, thick hair, & I hate it. I want straight hair. I cannot afford the $600 Japanese treatment (and it would probably burn my hair off anyway). Can anybody help me? I need a product that will be effective, but one that will not burn off my hair. I can only put my hair up in a bun now, & I’m thinking of getting a wig it’s that bad. My old Hairstylist suggested putting a small amount of regular conditioner in my hair over night & rinsing it out in the morning to help reverse the damage done to my hair by dyeing it.

Any tips on how to do this myself? I can dye / cut my hair [for the most part] myself. I’m just not sure how to dye it that specific way. How do I divide the hair to separate what part has to be dyed at each time? I’m going to have to dye my hair black, since my hair is a dark brown, but I want it black. =D Last time I tried this the bleach didn’t “stick” to the black dye, so I’m going to have to divide the hair & bleach the part they’llll be pink & dye the part that will be black.
Any suggestions on how to divide it? Should I dye it black & bleach it at the same time, or will the black bleed into the white [or white into black]? Thank you! I’ve dyed my hair five to six times in the last 6 months & straightened it like five time with thermal care ionic chemical hair straightner & I’ve used hair dye stripper to get black hair dye out. Now its been month in a half since I have used all those products & now my hair has been thinning bad & when I wash it I see hair on my hand. What can I do to reverse this problem? Could this be a scalp problem caused by all those chemicals?

My friend just dyed his hair jet black, thinking it would look good, but let me tell you, it looks horrible on him. He had medium brown hair before he dyed it, & his hair is incredibly long. The hair dye was of course, permanent. What can be done to fix this? Does he just wait a few weeks & re dye it to a dark brown? Please, if you have good method or know of when to help fix or reverse this, please let me know. Thank you.

I recently dyed my naturally brown hair to auburn with dark red highlights. However, after a day in the sun, the highlights at the top of my head have become noticeably lighter. Is there a way to reverse this & make my hair darker (more browny, less red)? And if not, how long will I have to wait until I can re-dye my hair to a natural colour such as black or brown?
