Hair Dye Answers

I’ve heard that shampoos & conditioners for brown dyed hair for example have a little bit of the dye in em to preserve the color. Is this true?

over summer i want to expiriment with my hair…. (my school has a dress code) so i want to dye my hair with lime green streaks or something…. but i already dye my hair black… & i cant bleach my hair… so i was just wondering.. does the neon colored hair dye, dye over already dyed black hair??

I have light brown hair & i want to dye it either pink or blue.How well does it show up?and will all the color wash out?

What I meant is, how did color dye for hair turned color? I find it very weird & confusing because I have never use it before…

I recently bleached & dyed my hair, well actually back in june, but my hair is sort of damaged, & i was wondering if anyone knew of any good hair products, right now i’m using mane ‘n tale shampoo & conditioner & that is doing an okay job but i would like something more repairing.

i’m 17 & i’d like to get my hair coloured for my school ball. My natural hair is dark brown & i’d like to get it coloured maybe a mahogany or plum colour at the salon. This particular salon uses a brand of hair dye that uses more natural & organic products. My mum coloured her hair there & her hair was in perfect condition afterwards, but i’m still scared coz i’ve never dyed my hair before. any advice (including what type of dye would be least damaging, ie: semi-permanent, permanent, etc) would be great, thanks guys!!

i have tried feria lorel. ive tried all of the red shades & none of them are bright enough for me. i want a very intense red. i dont care if it looks fake. besides bleaching & going to the salon has anyone tried any red hair dyes that have worked? if so what are the brand names & shades.

I want a little feedback on the opening to my story. It’s about a teenaged celebrity (Greyson Belle Winters) & her struggles to stay normal with all the pressures on her. Think of it as a novel similar to the books in the “Secrets of My Hollywood Life” series. “Greyson? Greyson. Greyson Belle Winters, look up from that stupid iPhone of yours & listen to me!” my mom complains, giving me her best evil eye.
I smile sheepishly & take a sip of my citrus-infused water. “Sorry. I was reading that Teen Hollywood interview. What were you saying?” Jake laughs. My mom sighs. “I was saying, Kate, Penelope, & Elsie should be here any minute. Now turn your gadget off before I smash it with my Gucci.” I take her seriously. Her brand new snakeskin tote weighs close to twelve pounds. I have no idea what she keeps in there.
Just then, Jake’s mom storms out of Cut & Peel’s kitchen door with a tray of food, dressed in her usual printed baby tee & destroyed jeans. She kisses Jake on top of his head & sits down. “Baby greens, hiziki, & cherry salad with a miso dressing alongside an organic rosemary pork roast,” Elsie explains as she sets down the dishes, “I’ve got twenty minutes. Where are Kate & Penelope?” Our agent-publicist duo is surprisingly running late. I can’t ever remember them being late. Actually, I can’t remember being able to go anywhere without being hounded by the paparazzi.
“They’re late. So while we’re waiting, I’ll be in the bathroom.”Cut & Peel is located in a lush garden in Santa Monica, & Elsie wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s open & airy, with glass walls, bamboo furniture, & waterfalls bubbling everywhere. I wave & say hello to a few people I know as I make my way across the spacious seven thousand square foot room to the quiet bathroom. No one is in here except for the bathroom attendant. I regloss my lips & turn sideways to get a good look at myself in the mirror.
“Greyson Belle Winters. What a surprise,” a smooth, sarcastic voice quips from behind me. I whip around, the tie-dyed skirt of my Sass & Bide chiffon dress twirling out around me. It’s Freesia Macintyre, another well-known teen queen. Did I mention that she hates me since I took her number one spot on Teen Vogue’s Most Fashionable Starlets list last year? It’s too bad, because she used to be really nice: to me & to everyone. She’s transformed into the classic Hollywood bad girl now.
“Oh. Hi Freesia. What’s up?” I try to be polite. She smirks & pulls her hair up into a high ponytail. She turns to face the mirror. “Not much,” she starts, which tells me she’s here for something big. “I’m here on a business meeting. About Jack Holton’s new fantasy movie.” I inwardly take her diss. She knows Jack is one of Hollywood’s best directors – one that anyone would die to work with, especially me. I’m a sucker for fantasy movies.
“That’s great, Free.”
“Oh, shut up.” She turns on her four-inch Jimmy Choo wedges to face me. “Stop the fake friend act. And don’t call me Free.” I take a step back, now completely irritated.
“Well, excuse me for trying to be polite,” I say, looking up at her smirk. Why did I have to be only five foot two? “I was trying to be the bigger person.” She rolls her eyes as I head for the door, tipping the attendant who has put on her headphones, most likely to drown her out. “By the way, I think your outfit proves why I was number one of Teen Vogue’s list!” I giggle slightly as I walk away, even though I feel a little bad, too. But, hey, she brought up Jack Holton!
“GREYSON! Hi there, girl!” shrieks Penelope. She’s definitely the more hyper half of the Walsh sisters. She stands up to give me a kiss on the cheek while Kate just sits there, typing away on her Blackberry. She looks up a moment later & smiles at me. “Sorry ‘bout that. Hi Greyson, hi Jake. How’s life?”
“I just had a run-in with the flower witch in the bathroom, if not good.”
“What? Where is it?” Jake jokes, turning to look around the room. Being six minutes older, he likes to take the older brother role & protect me. I never really need the help, but since he’s my best friend I cut him a lot of slack.
I sigh. “It is across the room, holding court with the Holton people.” My crew turns in their seats to look around. They spot Maria Andersen, Jack’s personal assistant, up in the balcony eating area, along with several associates from Emage Pictures talking animatedly with Freesia’s party. Kate smacks down a folder full of prospective offers & stands up with an evil gleam in her eyes. “I’ll be right back.” We watch as she makes her way up the stairs & starts talking to the group.

I already unfortunately have a bit of a receeding hairline, & I’m scared to put hair dye/bleach directly to scalp, but that’s how they do it since I get my hair done to be lightblonde from med/dark brown.
They SAY it doesn’t hurt it, & they don’t use bleach, they use a special kind of a lightening dye, but it still has to go MANY shades lighter, & I’m afraid if this might damage my hair & the follicles. If anyone has any idea let me know!

I had to bleach my hair to put on the dye but i want to take out the color.
Would stripping the color take out the bleach too??

Here’s the scoop: I am an idiot. I jumped the gun & decided to add some highlights to my dark blonde roots to blend better with the rest of my blonde hair. I only did a few & they ended up turning into peachy blobs on my head after the max 45 mins. It didn’t actually look THAT bad & was fixable. Then I got a really really stupid idea & got boxed golden brown dye. I thought I could just go over the peachy blobs & get it back to how it looked in the begining.
It ended up turning my roots a hideous coppery warm color & the rest of my hair completely ashy & DISGUSTING.
(I decided to just cover my whole head instead of the peachy colored blobs).
Needless to say I started scrubbing & washing my hair immediately after I did the initial rinse. I’ve washed my hair 10 times already today.
I looked at the box & another mistake is that it was permanent but amonia free.
Here’s my question, will Amonia free permanent hair dye fade faster then if it had Amonia in it??

first if all you can go to an hair stylist but if your trying to do it yourself you can part your hair in alot of quarter size boxes & then put rubber bands around them at the root & then where you want your color to start at then take your color & dip each ponytail & then walaa! you tips are done like you went to an professional
