Hair Dye Answers

I have naturally light brown hair but I have dyed it dark brown, which was a huge mistake. Two or three weeks after I dye my hair dark brown, it always turns red-brown. Eventually it turns orange. I need suggestions on how to dye my hair back to my natural light brown color without turning it orange. My hair isn’t damaged at all, it’s just the wrong color. May I note that every time I reattempted to dye it back to dark brown, I went to a professional stylist at a salon & the outcome was still the same. In the past month, I have spent nearly $150 to fix it, but my hair now seems beyond repair.
Does anyone know what would happen if I bleached my hair, & then dyed it light brown? To get this done, I would go to a salon. I just don’t want to waste more of my money to have the same thing happen again.
I’m open to anything!

I’ve use Nice N Easy before & it hardly gave me a difference. I noticed that Clairol (red shades) give me the most noticeable look= but a little orangey. I want a little bit something different!

Okay, So I Put Peroxide Blonde in My Hair, And It Showed Up Reddish In Some Parts And Dirty Blonde in Others. My Hair Is Sort Of dark, And I Want To Know How To Get My hair To Accept The Dye Properly. Any Tips?

My hair is a medium brown color & I wanted to dye it dark brown, so I went to a stylist & she put a “permanent” color in my hair (which faded after 2 washes to a ginger color) so I decided to try to dye it a dark brown at home. Only now it looks like a red/ginger color. Its only a temporary color wash-out but how can I avoid making the same mistake next time? Should I be using a near-black color to make sure it doesn’t have a ginger/red tinge? I have just used a color that was in between medium brown & black.

If i lightened it to like a light brown first would that be bad? I’m only doing the underside of my hair.

I had light brown dyed hair & then I decided to color it dark brown. Unfortunately, I didnt know that it will turn into black. I am trying to fade it now, but I am wondering if the color will fade to the light dyed hair that I previously had or back to my original hair color? (which is dark brown) Thanks alot!

sort of like a ruby red, scarlett color. not candy apple red, lol. anyways, I heard that there is some line of hair dye that they sell @ Sally’s, by L’Oreal. Supposedly it can dye your hair even if it is dark (like mine is a medium brown color) so I wanna see if anyone on here has used it & liked it? Esp. if you have dark hair.

I have naturally blonde hair but I dyed it nearly black but I want to go back!
I’m trying to let it grow out, so now I have several inches of my blonde but I can’t wait for it to grow out, I need help figuring out how to go back without ruining my hair.
I have long, healthy hair. Its not dry or brittle at all, but it is very dark (from the hair dye).
I’m okay with having it cut to just above my shoulders if needed, but I would prefer to keep the length.
Can you please give me the steps (and products!) that I need to do to fix this? I know it won’t be my natural color, but thats okay as long as its blonde & not near black anymore.
Oh, & I need to do it myself, I’m in college & cannot afford a salon. I do have someone to help me though so I don’t miss any spots.

i have medium to dark brown hair, long & curly. i want to dye/ bleach it blonde at home. ive tryed it before but it frizzed my hair & went orange! but i dont lear from my mistakes, im only 16 so i have all life to fix mistakes lol

It’s been 2 weeks since I got my hair dyed at the salon. (reddish-brown). In a couple weeks I want to dye my hair dark brown. Will my color mix with the redbrown & turn out a different color? What do you think? I’m going to dye my hair with store-bought dye this time.
Any other tips for dyed hair?

I want to dye my hair chocolate brown & get rid of the regrowth halfway down my head, but will the blonde tips go a caramel colour or just go orange?

I have dyed my hair bleach blonde for 10+ years & I want to change my color to dark auburn with out completely ruining it. I would like to know any advice anyone has on the proper steps to take to get the color I want & not some horrible shade of pink.

my natural hair color is brownish black but i want to dye it dark purple that almost looks black but i dont want it permanent n that does not stain (if possible) i dont want to go to the salon cuz of the cost so maybe like manic panic or something… does it work for non bleached hair?

I am completely lost on this subject. I have never died my hair before with fear that I will look completely horrible. I really want to dye it, but I don’t see much choice of where to go. Anything from blonde, to red, to … just about all the colors most people would use, simply wouldn’t work (I mean highlights, not all my hair, on the other hand, considered dying all my hair Black, not brown, black, just to see what that would be like.) I would really aprecate it if someone could help me out & give me some options so I don’t make one of those huge mistakes I’ve seen been done before. THANKYOU!!!

The color I bought was called really dark brown ( I know 1st mistake lol) I dyed my hair & when I rinsed I was shocked to find black. I thought well most colors fade in a few days or a week to a more natural color. This did not happen for quite some time.
Now it is over a year later & I am still growing the color out. It is now a very pretty brown on the ends but my hair goes 3/4 the way down my back & half my hair is this pretty brown, that I can’t match. I try to dye my roots so they don’t look so dramatically different, but I am ready to have my natural hair color back.
Is there anything I can do at home to try & strip the color naturally. My hair is pretty healthy & I went to a salon & they told me it would be very harsh on my hair to strip it with their chemicals. I would like to find something to help me lighten it or strip it out completely, but that isn’t to harmful to my hair because I am growing it out for locks for love.

I bought Clairol Born Blonde Maxi Nice’n easy hair dye, & it says that it will dye anywhere from light blonde to dark brown/black hair. It is one of the few dyes recommended for dying black hair a platinum blonde. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this work better? I’ve heard some people talk about using foil for heat or not washing my hair for a couple days beforehand…

I had dyed my hair last night with a dark brown color, & it turned out completely dark black. I tried dying it with a medium brown just now & there was no change. I’ve dyed my hair black before & I had to bleach it out, would this be the case in my situation now?
