Do I Need To Bleach My Hair B4 I Use Purple Hair Dye?

ok last yr i dyed my hair a blond color
and the blond is still in my hair at the tips. i want 2 dye my hair a dark purple at the tips where its still blond.. do i still HAVE 2 bleach it? what happends if i dont?

    If it’s still blonde in the tips & that’s ALL you want blonde, you shouldn’t need to bleach it.

    It’ll be brighter if you bleach it first.
    BUT. It’ll probably still be purple. Bleaching your hair is HORRIBLE for it… & dying it right after is even worse.
    But if you want to go for a brighter, more noticeable purple, bleach it first. But it’ll still work otherwise.

    No. If your hair is blonde, the purple dye will show up nicely without bleaching it. The purpose of bleach is to strip your hair of color so that the new color you apply grabs onto each hair follicle & stays there, but it can fade quickly even so. If your hair is already blonde, it’s very porous & will hang onto the purple color.
