Should I Dye My Hair With Stuff From The Store?
okay so i got my hair dyed dark brown 2 weeks ago. It had lots of blond highlights in it & it has faded some. my hair lady used semi-permanent. like the color is definitelyyyy still there. its just my highlights are showing some now & it isn’t as dark brown as when i first had it dyed.
so, i have never dyed my hair myself before. i have always gotten my hair lady to do it. I want to get my hair dyed again but my mom wont let me since i go to a pricey salon it would cost like 75…
so i want to go to walgreens tomorrow & buy a box of dark brown dye. im veryyyyyyyy scared it wont come out the way i want it to or will ruin my hair or not work very well. pretty much anything that could go bad im veryy very scared of.
so my question is, would it be a mistake to do it myself? should i wait?
i would loveee if someone gave me a good answer w/ lots of detail =]

usually blonde highlights peak out of any dyed hair… maybe try bleaching your whole head first, then apply the dark brown? Ask your mom for assistance. I have dyed my hair numerous of times store boughten & never had a problem..

If you want to dye your hair in the first place don’t ever let the hairdresser use permanent stuff, besides the fact that it ruins your hair you can never really get the color you want, because its well permanently staining your hair. Its really hard to strip that crap out of your hair & the process also ruins your hair. So I would say no to buying store dye just let your hair change a Little it & then go for it.

If you are not going to go get it done & you want to do it your self DONT buy boxed dye it is very bad for your hair. Go to a beauty supply store like Sally’s & by the dye from there it is the same dye they use in salons just pick out the color you want & the back of the bottle will tell you what kind of developer to use which usually in a 20 developer & get an applicator bottle & mix the 2oz of dye with 2oz of developer its a lot better for your hair & just a few dolors more than box dye
