Because I have medium brown hair & want it to be a lighter brown, but I don’t want to dye it because I don’t want to have to deal with the roots showing. Is there anything I can use to make my hair lighter ?

Hydrogen Peroxide. Most drug stores will have it. Back in the seventies people used it to lighten their hair. Most of the surfing crowd wanted to have that sun-bleached look. You will still have to reapply it occasionally, there isn’t anything you can do, short of growing older, that will permanently change the color of your hair.

you could use coffee. It will give your hair a really nice brown look & could wash out if you are not satasfied with it.

Sun-in works – it has peroxide & lemon juice. You might also want to try spraying lemon juice on your hair, combing it through, & then blowing it dry. Hope this helps!

Do not use peroxide! It will turn your hair orange! Trust me , I did it in high school & it wasn’t pretty!
Using some lemon juice before you go out in the sun will lighten your hair.
Sun-in works as well. I think that you need to apply both before going out in the sun & after a few applications, you should see a difference. Both can do damage to your hair though, so make sure to follow up once a week or so with a deep treatment. Just use some coconut oil or jojoba oil & allow it to penetrate into your hair.

Lemon juice works very well. You could also use hydrogen peroxide. I don’t know if combining the two will work.

are you excluding hydrogen peroxide?
and yeah, I definately don’t recommend bleach at all.. it’ll damage your hair in about a week but I have heard about something called “Hennah” it depends on how long you leave it inyour hair, like… 45 minutes will probably make it blonde .. 25minutes most likely would change it to redish orange.. Any way. try asking any arabic person…they’ll know where to get it.
Also you can use lemon juice then sit in the sun…. makes nice highlights but would take ages to color all your hair!!!!
Good luck!
