Some Much Needed Help With A Hair Dye Disaster?

So I tried to dye my hair from brown to blond & it went orange with bright yellow roots…
Bahahaha!!! yep, it looked pretty funny – like I was wearing a wig.
Yes, I know I’m an idiot. But hey its just hair, & what’s life without a few mistakes & a bit of fun?
My question is, what can I do? Besides going to a salon.
Thanks :)

Just bite the bullet & see a hair dresser…you aren’t going to be able to fix it at home without messing your
hair up more…they see it every day…just don’t do it again.

    Hey,
you should bleach it/dye it blonde again to take the yellow/orange colour out.
Then put a deep treatment conditioner on your hair & see what you want to do from there.

Put some peroxide on,it will make it lighter. leave it in for 20 minutes & rinse & condition. Keep doing that until you get what you like. Peroxide can be found almost anywhere. Target, grocery stores, pharmacy’s,and beauty stores.

Shower a few times so you can get as much out as possible.
Try to die it back or keep trying with the blond. Highlights might help. Buy an oil treatment & condition more often than usual to help minimize the damage to your hair.
    Good Luck!

I would get another bleach kit, after you condition your hair of course. Then apply that, to the orange part only. Then get a toner & apply that. If there’s any orange left then try a color stripper, if that doesn’t work I highly suggest going to a salon.

Sorry for your mishap. First off a dark haired person can’t go blonde unless they go to a salon as they have the skills to make you blonde. You said u did yourself. sorry my advice is you have only 2 choices. 1. go to salon or 2 go to walmart go back to a light brown. be sure till then get a shampoo from walmart to take away the brassiness from the orange you presently have. the shampoo you want is for silver hair. look for this. when you use it will be blue from bottle. that’s the way it should look. leave on hair after squeezing out excess a good 10 min. The chemicals in this product will counter the horrible orange temp. until you do one of the two things mentioned above.Remember get a shampoo for silver hair. this will help for sure. hope this helps good luck…

To dye it back to your brown color will not be using any bleach,
that is only when you are taking dark color out to a light color.
What you would be doing, is only adding a color to your already
stripped hair. A very easy step as compared to what you went
through to get to blond. You only need to shampoo it in.
I think you should go buy some brown color hair dye, maybe a
shade a little lighter than your own original, so while your hair
grows out, it will not be very noticeable. Good Luck!

This has happened to me *So Many* times. So this is what I do. Go to the store & buy the lightest *ash* brown hair color you can find. If you get a color with a red tone in it then you will certainly end up with orange hair. Colorsilk is cheap & makes your hair feel nice. Then after you’ve dyed it with the light ash brown color, get a frost ‘n’ glo highlighting kit. Put the highlighting cap on & pull strands of hair though every hole. Make sure your strands are not too thick. Keep the lightener on your hair as long as possible without frying your hair. When it’s all said & done you should have a nice head of blonde hair. If you want to go even more blonde, then I suggest you wait about a week & then do the highlight thing again. Make sure that after you use the highlight kit, you slather on the leave in conditioner.
